PICU is located in Ward 1D which is on the 1st floor of the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in the South Glasgow hospitals campus.

The children's hospital is the lower, rounded, white & multicoloured building to the right of the tall adult hospital as you approach from Govan Road on the main Hospital Boulevard.

By Car

The hospital sits near the junction of the M8 motorway and the Shieldhall Flyover/Clyde Tunnel Approach Road.

The main car parking entrance is from Govan Road via Langlands Drive. Hospital Boulevard is bus and drop-off only. 

The rear car parks can also be access via Shieldall Road and Hardgate Road.

There is ample visitor parking on site. Parking is free but restricted to a maximum of 4 hours between 8am-6pm. If you require to park for longer while your child is an inpatient in PICU, please let us know and we can inform the parking wardens of your Regsitration Number.

By Bike

The hospital is approximately 25 minutes bike ride from Glasgow City Centre, roughly 2/3 of the route is on decicated cycle lanes. From there, routes lead to the eastern & southern suburbs

The West End suburbs of the city can be accessed in 10-20 minutes via the Clyde Cycle Tunnel or the bridges at Pacific Quay. There are a large number of bike racks on site.

By Public Transport

Numerous bus routes from across Greater Glasgow stop outside the hospitals in the arrivals square at the top of the Boulevard. These connect to Partick subway/train interchange (Routes 17 & 77) and via the Clyde Tunnel to Govan subway station (Routes X1 and 23) and then into the City Centre along the north and south banks of the River Clyde respectively From there, further routes connect to the east end. Routes G1 & G2 connect to the inner West end via the Clyde Tunnel. 

In the opposite direction, Route 77 connects to Glasgow Airport.
